What will happen at my first appointment?

We allow up to an hour for your first appointment. This gives us time to discuss the problem properly, complete a thorough physical examination and begin treatment, all at your first session.

You can expect that your physio will explain why you are experiencing pain, recommend the best treatment approaches and advise you on the things you can do to help yourself.

We often prescribe corrective exercises. These are tailored individually for your condition and we’ll send them to you with video links so you can be sure you are practicing them properly between appointments.

Is there anything I need to bring with me or wear to my appointments?

We may ask you to remove some clothing to allow us to assess you properly, so you may wish to bring a vest or shorts with you.

If you have any scan results, reports or medication, please bring these with you to your first session. If you would like to send them to us to look over beforehand, you can email them securely to us.

Sometimes we may suggest videoing you while teaching you an exercise, so you can watch it at home later to practice, so bringing a smart phone can be helpful.

If you play sport, please bring your training shoes with you.

Do I need to have a referral letter from my GP?

You don’t need to have a referral letter from your GP to see one of our physiotherapists. We can send through a report or letter to keep them up-to-date if needed, once you have finished treatment.

Some insurance policies will require a referral letter, so if you are claiming for your treatment, please check with your provider first.

How many appointments will I need?

The average course of treatment is between 3 and 6 sessions. Your physiotherapist will be able to be more specific after your first appointment, when you have been assessed.

Can I pay by card?

We have an online booking system, which is the easiest way to book an appointment and pay for your sessions. You can also pay at our clinic on the day by debit card, cash or cheque. We do not accept Amex.

What if I have to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

We have a strict one working day cancellation policy and we charge in full for appointments which need to be rescheduled or cancelled within this time. This does not include Saturdays or Sundays, so if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment booked on a Monday, please call us before the office closes on the Friday before 6pm.
